Public Records
Background
To try and understand how Flock is used in St Pete, we have been performing public records requests. This has been a difficult and frustrating process. Our requests have been met with exorbitant fees and a lack of cooperation from the Police/city records office. We will try to keep this page up-to-date with the documents we have collected.

What’s Missing
We have not been able to obtain any Flock access logs. Without these logs we can not see how the system is actually being used, and it is impossible for the public to monitor for abuse. The Tampa Bay Times has also had difficulty getting law enforcement to share logs. Law enforcement across the region claim that these logs are confidential, demonstrating that they do, in fact, understand the importance of privacy. Unfortunately, that understanding does not appear to extend to the privacy of the general public.
